While prepping the house so painting can begin tomorrow sucked, I absolutely cannot wait to get rid of our blue kitchen. It was a bad paint job to begin with and the sheen was weird. I also cannot wait to get rid of the brown accent walls in the living room.

How naive we were to think Gabrielle would just take a long nap in the car to and from Laredo. She is almost two hours past her nap time and screaming. This has been the longest car ride ever, and we're still 29 minutes from home.

I can't help but feel lame about getting a babysitter for date night and then coming home at 10pm after leaving the house at 7pm. The reality is that we're both tired and getting in bed and going to sleep sounds way better than staying out late.

Had the absolute best day with Andy and Gabrielle. Went out for breakfast this morning, played a lot, and then went out to dinner. I'm so glad my sweet girl is feeling better this weekend.

Few things feel as counterproductive as flossing, brushing, and then using mouthwash only to guzzle honey because your allergies are irritating your throat and making you cough.

I love being cozy, so the fact that I got a ton of jammies for Christmas this past year was legit. Add my Comfy oversized hoodie to that, and I am fully prepared to be cozy during these next few days of icky cold weather.

Also, I loved seeing everyone's year in books, but wow, I felt embarrassed as hell when I realized I only read one book last year. Trying to give myself grace because 2024 was me learning to be a mom, but damn, I still felt some way about how little I read.

Something I didn't expect to warm my heart so much: getting into bed and realizing Gabrielle's stuffed llama, from the Llama Llama Red Pajama book, was near my pillow. Life with her is so sweet, even if it is exhausting at times.

Absolutely cannot wait for my new glasses! Somehow I've had my current pair for three years already, but I thought I got them two years ago. Looking forward to something different.

Things I will always do: check the weather forecast before packing. I don't want to be unnecessarily cold, but I especially don't want to be hot because I assumed it would be colder.
