I may need to stop trying to use a bladed object in the kitchen. Prepping dinner tonight (specifically cutting an onion), I managed to slice the shit out of my thumb. Thankfully, for a variety of reasons, it's my left thumb. It still sucks.

I also had to dig up medical tape to bandage it.

And bluetooth apparently decided it no longer wants to work on my desktop. Which means no headphones and no D&D tonight.

So far, I've rebooted, reinstalled the drivers (both generic and vendor specific), and flashed the BIOS. I've exhausted what I can do at this point.

For several months, my main bass has been set with flatwound strings. With practicing songs in both standard and half step down tuning, I pulled out my other Fender bass to keep in Eb tuning.

It has round wounds on it, and my fingertips are not happy with my choice.

My feet will be screaming by the time we get there.” Linnea smiled weakly, a hint of her usual self peeking out from the clouds of her grief. “That’s what you get for spending all your time in the towns and cities, Alma. No appreciation for the common folks who spend all their time on their feet to get anywhere.” Alma rolled her eyes, swallowing the food in her mouth before responding. “I like towns and cities. They have beds there. I can put solid walls between me and the things that go bump in the night. Someone else cooks my food for me and,” she said with special emphasis, “cleans up the dishes when I’m done.” “Yes,” Runo said teasingly, “and Kal tucks you in at night and reads you a bedtime story full of fairies and rainbows.”

The new Black Company book came out yesterday, and I started listening to it yesterday afternoon. I'm not going to say anything about whether I like it or not until I finish it, but I will note Cook, in going back to a property, did something that bothers me when writers revisit a property.

Things like this, Mamdani, and Georgia flipping both PSC seats gives me hope, but a year is a long time. Especially when Democrats in Congress aren't doing everything possible to oust Trump and blockade his agenda. Not to mention the Trump administration's "fuck you. Make me. " attitude.

Going through songs for a new band audition. The intro to Sweet Child o Mine is making me grumble a bit. Nothing I can't get, but damn.

And half is in standard and half is in a half step down. So it'll likely be a two bass set up for gigs.
