We can do both.

That would be the decision of the person deciding to rent the apartment.

I want to allow them to so the apartments can be cheaper. Why do you want to force them to build parking?
November 30, 2025 at 6:59 PM
Lol. So you're admitting now that developers should be allowed to build with no parking? Good to see you change your mind.
November 30, 2025 at 6:53 PM
You clearly dont know anything about Seattle. Here, when we are mad about inadequate public transit and drivers crying over parking, we vote in pro-transit candidates who don't own cars. We demand better transit not more parking.
November 30, 2025 at 6:45 PM
100% yes. And they should expand the no-parking on trash day not only for the trash cans but the trash collectors. As is, trash day can add 30 mins to my bus commute if I hit it just wrong.

Love this.

You absolutely have to be willing to do both. Liberal and pro-worker organization work against their own stated interests as well. Just look at NIMBY 'environmental' groups.

These "Health Through Housing" units include intensive services, including health care, for people who need them. Compared to the cost of Seattle's 116-member encampment sweeps team, or a month of jail nights, $2,800 a month for service-rich housing is a bargain.

💯 you don't elect an urbanist nerd on accident. i've said she's about the closest you can get to a 'philosopher king'.

Its the grade between Avalon and Delridge that is steep.

We didn't elect Sawant, we elected a coalition builder. I'm seeing people on both end of the spectrum I'm skeptical of, but I'm hopeful it will build relationships that allow quick progress on actionable policies.

And I love it almost as much as a driver! Turning off of 25th was dangerous even in a car.
November 26, 2025 at 4:05 AM
This one at 25th and Trenton was life changing for me. Its a major pedestrian/bike connection to the areas only shopping center and cars would fly down the hill and through the intersection. There weren't crosswalk markings before the all way stop was put in!! I smile every time I cross now.

There would of course be intense localized dissent. But with a voter mandate you could push through.
November 25, 2025 at 11:21 PM
I honestly think people would prefer it! If you had an ST3 vote with a sub-vote being (1) Customization, decades long process, possible budget overruns and minimizing disruption. (2) Standardized, significant disruption, cost effective and short timelines. People would overwhelmingly vote (2)

Yeah, imagine complaining that you were able to buy a house in your ideal location and had the flexibility to decide to have more kids and move out for more space? I can't imagine anyone my age calling that a hardship.

I feel like people who were skeptical of her and even those who wanted to be mad at her are really starting to give her a chance. And while some of that is a shared desire to see Seattle succeed, its a huge credit to her work in building trust.
