I've just finished reading God's Own Gentlewoman, by @dianewatt.bsky.social - a recent interpretation of Margaret Paston's life and letters.

It's insightful and well-informed (of course!), but it's written in an accessible style. It also conveys a very strong sense of place.

Highly recommended!
