They are getting cold feet because redistricting converts safe GOP seats into less-safe seats (but more of them). In a wave election, those less-safe seats could turn blue.

Bad politics! Most *Democrats* are OK with banning medical gender-affirming care for minors.
If someone wants gender-affirming care as an adult, that's fine. But a, say, 10-year-old should not be allowed to make medical decisions, like surgery or puberty blockers, that have lifetime implications.
