Megumi soon leans back and he almost purrs. Almost.

Sukuna would give anything to hear it properly.

“Okay,” Megumi says. “One date. And you better sweep me off my feet, alpha.”

“I’ll do my very fucking best, omega.”

Sukuna stares, and he doesn’t even try to hide that he is. His lips part, and he gasps softly when Megumi leans in and buries his nose behind his ear, thoroughly smelling him.

He can feel his lips on his skin, and Sukuna forgets to breathe.

Uncertainty is vibrating in the air, and when Megumi finally speaks, it’s slow and hesitant. “Are you... asking me out on a date?”

“That I am.”

Another pause. Megumi eyes him closely for a moment before he pulls his legs in under him and crawls over the couch to get to Sukuna.

“Please,” Megumi scoffs. “I’m not going to be stupid enough to try and say that you are anything but attractive.”

“If you let me take you out, I’ll let you be the judge if there's anything besides that.”

Megumi frowns, and Sukuna can clearly hear a sharp gasp followed by a snort outside the room.

Megumi rolls his eyes, but his smile doesn’t fade. If anything, his eyes crinkle a little.

“You mean to imply there is more to you besides your face and body?”

“So, you think I look good?” Sukuna’s grin grows wider.

"I'm afraid you're mistaken." Sukuna smiles back. “I’m just as bad as the others, but perhaps slightly better at hiding it.”

“Self-aware. I like that.”

“There is more to me than meets the eye,” Sukuna adds, and because he can’t help himself, he flashes his fangs and winks.

Megumi glances at Yuji before meeting Sukuna’s eyes. It almost looks like he smiles. Incredibly faint, which probably is more than any alpha has been granted by him.

"Something like that."

"If I may." Yuji hooks his fingers in the doorway and leans in. He must have been right outside this whole time. “I think what Megumi is trying to say, is that he has realised that perhaps not all alphas are so bad, after all. Right, Megumi?"

“Sorry?”

“You heard me,” Megumi mutters.

“No, I honestly did not hear much.” Sukuna folds his arms over his chest. “Did you say you wanted to thank me?”

“Yes. You… I was, you could have taken advantage of me, and instead you… brought me to a beta. That was…”

Sukuna plucks at the edge of the cast. "I broke it. It wasn't a severe fracture, thankfully, so it should heal alright."

"Hm." Megumi is silent for a moment. “Well, I… The reason I asked Yuji to call you here was because… Because... Iwantedtothankyou.”

“Yes.”

"Seriously?" Sukuna’s lips curl down. “What the...”

Megumi tilts his head. “You have no idea how bad it is, do you?”

“I've learned now that I don't,” Sukuna admits. "I don't... even know what to say."

"You don't have to say anything." Megumi's gaze drops for a moment. "How's your hand?"

“What do you mean?” Sukuna walks over to the couch and takes a seat, still remaining far away from Megumi.

“Don’t tell me you don’t know?” Megumi raises his eyebrows when Sukuna shakes his head. “There are lots of drugs out there used to force omegas into heat.”

“You mean… Like a roofie?”

“How are you?” Sukuna asks.

“Better.”

“Good to hear. If I may, though... I don't mean to sound like I blame you, but what on earth were you doing outside so close to your heat?”

Megumi narrows his eyes in annoyance. “That wasn’t a natural heat.”
