Sunder, I have great respect for your comments but when it comes to this World Cup, I really don’t think we can treat this as just another tournament. It’s an absolute disgrace and as a lifelong football fan I feel that my game is being stolen by a bunch of corrupt crooks. Let’s not normalise this.

This was NOT a U- turn. It was a negotiated settlement between unions represented by the TUC and the employer organisations.

An excellent piece from someone who knows all there is to know about collective bargaining and the role of the law in employment relations. It probably was kite flying but that can be dangerous when it comes from sources who don’t understand the consequences or worse, wilfully ignore them.

Agreed. Farage either hasn't got a clue or he knows this is a complete lie. Dangerous, ignorant clown

I’m not convinced the problem lies with either the OBR or the Treasury. It could be the bond markets who take their lead from the OBR rather than taking a more nuanced position. It’s the markets that tank the economy not the OBR.

Having just finished it I agree with Jo Cruddas. We saw some of this SPAD arrogance under Blair but it appears to have reached a new and seriously undemocratic level. Or should that be nadir?

The article is complete nonsense. I was meeting Civil Service unions in the late 1990's to share experiences about PRP in both the public and private sectors. The FDA Gen Sec was on the airways today saying this is just silly headlines.

Have read a lot of these about AI and China and it's interesting that so many of them suffer from poor writing and punctuation. This one is the least offensive but others have been shocking. Perhaps AI will help authors to up their game. Better still they could learn to write

Bad policy. It means effectively that public sector workers will be asked to make a bet on their financial situation and mortality many years in advance. Some will be tempted but it will be an uninformed punt on the future

I am no climate sceptic but it’s not a good idea to confuse global warming with weather. That’s what the denial cult do and it’s wrong

I’m sorry but it’s not hard. I’m an amateur but I can smell the difference between sugar and malt

Ok let’s unravel this nonsense. A significant minority still oppose this and a political/ media majority oppose it. The only way to win is step by step. Evolution not reveloution
