All while taking 4-5 classes each semester and pursing multiple freelance journalism opportunities.

What’s happening in DC and elsewhere is scary and inhumane and I’m not going to pretend I don’t feel that way.

We have to stop normalizing what’s happening.

The credit union I banked with put a hold on my account for “spending money unwisely” because I ate at Taco Bell a lot. No joke. That’s what they told me. It was the only place I could afford to eat hot food from.

I worked 2-3 jobs, more than full time, none that offered benefits. I was uninsured.

I was fortunate to have a car to sleep in some nights. Other nights I hopped from friend’s couch to friend’s couch.

I was thankful I never had to sleep on the street, but it was stressful to find places to clean up, to rest, to get food I could afford that wouldn’t go bad.

I paid a $40 copay in total. And now I never have to worry about accidental pregnancy, or about getting raped and getting pregnant. (4/4)

I found my surgeon on this list. I did not have to go through a stupid approval process or get my spouse's permission. I told him it's what I wanted, he went over informed consent as required by law, and that was it.

If your surgeon is good at their job, they know how to get it coded so that it's covered as birth control for free under most insurance plans. (2/thread)
