I got a chance to spend a little time with some folks at the Pasco County Library System to learn more about the “memory kits” patrons can check out to jog memories and facilitate conversations between patients with #dementia and their caregivers. #alzheimers

My sweet boy is 14 now and with soft fur and all his teeth, the vet is always surprised how good he looks.

Even if he does cost me a car payment monthly in insulin and prescription food and needles.

So worth it. Look how much he loves his birthday toys!

Seven years ago today I was privileged to be healthy enough to donate a kidney to my sister. I’m so grateful my health issues, which are completely unrelated, started after this.

(Forgive the Harry Potter reference. It was a different time.)

Went to SYFY Bartow Saturday and picked up a book from a Lakeland author that I'm really excited about.

"The Chasing Collection" is a zombie trilogy, and the prequel is from a journalist's perspective!

It'll pair well with my Newsflesh series from Mira Grant.

Seven years ago this month, I gave my sister my right kidney.

As great as it is to register for organ donation after death, many folks still die waiting for a transplant from a cadaver organ.

I'm always down to talk about my donation experience and help guide folks through the process.

Tonight during Winter Solstice I’m celebrating the eventual return of the sun, and a new year of light and growth.

Right now I’m focusing on honoring all the reasons that make life worth living to help sustain me during this next period of my life.

Started my morning off in Tampa at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention walk in memory of my dad, Donald Miller, a USMC veteran who died by suicide on Jan. 4, 2021.

He was failed by his country & the VA, but leaves a legacy of love, wonder, & curiosity in me, my sister, & his grandkids.
