My contribution 😊 definitely need more pets & Disney
The following summer he arranged Live Aid for the same relief project. 40-50 million was raised(150mil today). The world stopped to watch…on tv. I fully understand it was a “has to be there” time to anyone under 50. I can see where the song & lyrics are odd now. But at the time, it was meaningful. ❤️

Maybe the lyrics haven’t aged well after 40yrs, but BandAid/the song were significant in 1983. Geldof made everyone aware of the famine in Ethiopia. There was no internet then, knowledge was not there until he spoke up. He found a new way, as a musician, to raise a large sum of relief money. (1/2)
