The kids in my family all learned cursive, but they're in a classical education public charter school. So there's a lot of stuff like hardcopy texts, writing/notetaking by hand for memory formation, & just generally making technological shortcuts somewhat less easy/tempting.

Sigh. At this point, I think the only path back to sanity is printing Jefferson's writing about education on the plastic bats that make the satisfying "BWOOPBWOOP* sound when whomped on someone's head.

Yesterday, when Bovino announced ICE would be returning to Little Village today, some of us donated and fundraised to buy out street vendors in the neighborhood. This morning, volunteers hit the streets at 6:30 am, looking for vendors to buy out. Tamales make an excellent breakfast.

I don't like relying upon extensions b/c their ecosystem is a recipe for abandoned projects, but I think the closest thing to a fully equivalent GUI-based replacement is going to be one of these:
