Work on the sculpture is underway at the Walla Walla Foundry in Washington State. A team from Davidson College recently visited the foundry, alongside Hank Willis Thomas, to check out the progress on the sculpture. These are some behind-the-scenes photos from their trip.

The sculpture depicts two work-worn hands of cast bronze, their patina intended to reinforce the aged character of the hands of enslaved and exploited individuals. Work on the sculpture is underway at the Walla Walla Foundry in Washington State.
