I keep getting asked why I haven't written a piece on the Bryce Mitchell stuff. Truth is, I've been writing about the MMA-to-Nazi pipeline for nearly a decade, including how it festers in the UFC.

This isn't new. This is the norm.

Blood, Sweat, Hate: MMA's festering neo-Nazi problem
Extremists are using the sport’s counter-culture mystique to radicalize disenfranchised young men and to provide them a shared space to spread hate. Meanwhile, the UFC is also profiting off hate.

If the killer played Among Us and that drove him to kill according to the media, then considering how well that game sold, every healthcare CEO should be rightfully shitting themselves.

NBC is breathlessly reporting that the UHC shooter suspect played lots of (🥁🥁🥁)…Among Us!

You know, that game that *checks notes* everyone and their 6-year-old-cousin played during the lockdowns including Jimmy Fallon and the cast of Stranger Things on *checks notes again* the Tonight Show on NBC.
Suspect in UnitedHealthcare CEO slaying played video game killer, friend recalls
A man who attended college with Luigi Mangione and was a member of the same Discord group said he was shocked when news broke on social media that Mangione had been taken into police custody.

I really need to post more, but I’ve never really had a great routine for social media. How do people get into the habit without it feeling like *work*?

Welp, that sure didn’t take long.

I remain uncertain about how well Bluesky’s Discover algorithm works, so purely as a test, I have been liking all the cat photos.

This is a post about Dynasty Warriors.
If you don't stan a franchise filled with 6/10 games, I can't trust you as a gamer

I made a bet with myself that the linked article didn’t mention healthcare or medical insurance complications for part-time or temp workers at all.

So now I’m going to get ice cream!
One job should be enough. End of story.

Honestly, if you object to a movie having sharks in the Colosseum, I appreciate your historical dedication, but you probably hate fun.
I keep seeing reviews of GLADIATOR II that say “it’s not nearly as weighty and thoughtful as the original. It’s very silly and they put SHARKS in the colosseum” and to me, these are all positives.

I really need to focus on self-care and video games this weekend, but I suspect it’s going to be very hard to find that focus.

It’s bone-chilling the extent to which half the country voted, and got, cruelty personified. Not hidden, not implied, but outright promised, with gusto and giggling.

But I’m not at all surprised.

Curatable, sharable block lists as a standard, non-API-required feature is a massive, massive deal. Holy shit.

So let me get this straight.

Instead of doing something sensible like bringing CA’s data privacy laws nationwide to protect everyone against every overzealous tech company, we’re going to specifically target TikTok because of vibes and red-scare? Really?

Hey. Yeah, you, hey: if you are not currently sick or disabled, one day you will be, and you will wish you lived in a world that had the resources and culture to make your life as full and thriving and happy as anyone else's. You will want that world, and you can start helping make it, right now.

Someday, someone will come up with an app to cross-post on social media without it being a security/safety nightmare.

Until then, we’re all just stuck in the attention/energy draining whirlpool of everything it takes to exist online.
