Crazy RTO Policy of the day: MISO proposes allowing existing generators to move their interconnection service to other places on the grid, bypassing the interconnection queues. They are using a 5% dfax to determine whether or not the movement is material. Could move a generator 100s of miles...

It's amazing how a proposal that "only benefits IPPs" was universally opposed by them. This will cause huge shifts in the market away from competitive generation supply and towards vertically integrated supply. I wrote testimony in the docket that tried to quantify these costs which was ignored...
Kind of a big deal. This week, FERC approved filings from MISO and SPP that will finance construction of high-voltage transmission to enable the connection of 30 GW of wind, solar, and storage. Yet, many clean energy developers opposed the plan - 🔌💡 elibrary.ferc.gov/eLibrary/fil...
