6. Human beings are complicated. We have positive and negative qualities, and we do good and bad things. I'm an example; I've done plenty of things in the past that I'm ashamed of now.

I wish you the best during these difficult times. Be well and have a good night.

5. I'd dispute the "nothing else" part. I'm also obsessed with, for example, my two kids (and advocating for LGBTQ+ parenthood).

Five years ago this month, I was in a hospital, obsessed with warning folks about Covid. See @maddow.msnbc.com:

4. I've gotten a lot better about not being so elitist over the years.

I chalk a lot of it up to therapy, which I've been privileged to have. Therapy has also helped me deal with a lot of issues related to being an LGBTQ+ person of color.

3. There's some truth to my being "elitist" and "obsessed with power and money." I attribute some of this to be raised by Asian immigrants who put a lot of stock in education (hence the elitism) and material success (they came here poor).

2. I do believe in posting things I disagree with—like Brad Karp's email, a primary document. My posting it allowed others, like @marcelias.bsky.social and @billkristolbulwark.bsky.social, to refute it. I don't know why you should be so angry at me for that.

1. I'm not very popular with the right currently, having condemned the Perkins Coie order, the Paul Weiss order, and Paul Weiss's response, using words like "atrocious," "appalling," and "deserv[ing] strong condemnation from anyone who cares about the rule of law."

I say at multiple points in the piece that she's biased in favor of Trump (for which I've gotten grief from some of my more conservative readers).

I believe that there are multiple factors at work here, including but not limited to her bias, inexperience as a judge, and problems as a manager.

Here is a follow-up post containing a significant amount of reporting.

It does not paint a flattering picture of Judge Cannon as a boss or as a person—and I've taken plenty of flak for it from my more conservative readers.

I agree (which is why I left in pretty short order).

I agree with you that she is "out of her depth and is flailing." See my follow-up post (which does not paint a flattering picture of her as a boss or a person):
