And why am I seeing media treat the bearista cups as some sort of news story while seemingly ignoring the large (and growing!) unfair labor practice strike?
How about instead of selling "bearista" cups, Starbucks bargains a fair contract with its unionized baristas? No contract. No coffee. Don't cross the picket line. Solidarity with @sbworkersunited.org
Starbucks' outrageous CEO-to-worker pay gap might make you spit out your morning coffee. And we're supposed to believe Starbucks can't afford to bargain a fair contract with its unionized workers?

Starbucks’ response to the brave and remarkable group activity by its employees across the country has been a staggeringly expensive and mostly unsuccessful attempt to lawyer its way out of trouble rather than change its ways. Please support this important unfair labor practice strike
Remember: If unions didn’t matter, powerful corporations wouldn’t spend millions of dollars every year to stop workers from organizing. Solidarity with the thousands of unionized Starbucks workers who are on strike. Keep up the fight. www.cnbc.com/2025/11/20/s...

Whether it’s Republican politicians joking about the murder of Melissa Hortman or Democratic politicians expressing their condolences after the murder of Charlie Kirk, both parties have a extreme rhetoric problem.

Finally steeled myself to read this and it was as clear-eyed and painful as expected. Worth reading even if you already have reached the author’s conclusion that the “line” has been crossed (something particularly easy to see here in the DC area), and a must for anyone who’s not yet convinced.
The precise moment when and where in recent weeks America crossed that invisible line from democracy into authoritarianism can and will be debated by future historians, but it’s clear that the line itself has been crossed. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/america-ti...

Sportswriter schools “educator” on patriotism. The original letter was so annoying. It required a response and this nailed it far better than I could have
Someone from Virginia wrote to The Washington Post to lecture Baltimoreans that our national anthem “O!” Is unpatriotic and disrespectful.

I disagree.

Ok Blue Staters, now it’s our time to contact *our* elected officials, especially Senators. Josh Marshall explains far better than I can.

When you hear Trump & his supporters defend the detention of a Green Card holder by pretending to care about 1) antisemitism on campus, and 2) trespassing on college property, remember that Trump 1) hosted a Holocaust denier for dinner & 2) pardoned violent insurrectionists.
