Gilman & Curtis, Berkeley, 1941
A view northerly along the Key System G-line & Santa Fe Railroad routes. Elevated Bart track now run along here. (I've ridden my bike a few times along the Ohlone Greenway here) I'm not exactly sure how this picture was taken, anybody know? #sfhistory #sfmemory

Big Al's, 1968
Cashing in on the Bonnie & Clyde craze, here's "Creation of Love" Who knew those 1930s bank robbers wore leopard print underwear? (which they later take off) And I'm sorry but no shots of nude Bat Girl #sfhistory

Fairfax, 1985
A friend lived at the Marin Town & Country Club, of course I was captivated by the old signs and the decrepitude. Others have written a lot about this place, I haven't been there in years. #sfhistory

Redwood City, Anti-Napalm Day, May 28, 1966
It took a bit of work to figure these out. John Ungaretti was 16 when he took them. They marched from Sequoia High School to the port where Napalm was produced. Carleton Goodlett, Robert Scheer, & others spoke to the crowd. more at sfmemory.org #sfhistory

3rd & Market, 1963
I know what you're thinking, "Uhh, what's this David?" Exactly what I thought, until I realized what it was, then I got excited. (ok, I'm easily excited) It's the old Chronicle Building getting its aluminum siding put on. Wow, right or nah? #sfhistory sfmemory.org/Update/

West Portal Kids, 1964
From the latest SFMemory.org update. I recently acquired many local family pictures in large discarded collections, sometimes they show identifiable places but often they are just personal, I'm not sure whether or not they add to the public record. I like this one. #sfhistory

I’m not much of an activist, I think the last time I walked up the middle of Markwt Street was the 49ers first super bowl win. But this is important. #nokings

Candlestick Cove, circa 1957
A view southerly from Bayview Hill, showing a completed US101 Freeway and Candlestick Cove housing. This housing was built for war workers in 1943 & was removed by mandate by 1970. In the early 50s, freeway construction cut the neighborhood in half. #sfhistory #sfmemory

I think you have it pretty darn close if not exactly right. the north shots also show a smokestack which was part of a sugar refinery. Here's a 1957 USGS map with my assumed location circled. Let me know what you think

Location Mystery, 1958
The slides are marked Alvarado, which in now part of Union City & mostly built up. I just do not know where to locate these, East Bay folks, can you help find these shots of flooding from 1958? #history #mystery sfmemory.org/search/index...
