I have met with most of the cabinet nominees and have carefully watched their confirmation hearings.

After considering what’s at stake, I have voted against moving forward to the confirmation of Ms. Gabbard and Mr. Kennedy, and will be voting NO on their confirmations.

They tried this in New York. A court threw out the redistricting map. In the next election, five Democratic house seats in New York went Republican.
In an ideal world, this is a horrible idea.

In ours, there's no alternative.

When one side refuses to follow the norms and rules, normal behavior doesn't accomplish what it's supposed to do. That's part of the damage the Republicans have wrought.
Democrats at the state level can do one thing to aid their colleagues in Washington: redrawing their state’s congressional maps to favor Democrats as much as possible ahead of the 2026 midterms.

Last year, I called out the dangers of Project 2025 and the damage it’d do to our country.

Americans were assured the Trump team had no ties to it—then nominated one of its authors to lead OMB.

My view has not changed and I will be a hard NO on Mr. Vought.

That includes Republican Jason Perillo, who is running for State Senate. The election is Feb 25th.

The President has a duty to take care that the laws are faithfully executed. But this is a faithless President, an administration filled with plutocrats and toadies, a Congress and SCOTUS that are cheering him on instead of providing oversight or accountability, and a press that’s… well, y’all know.
The President can't unilaterally abolish USAID, which is mandated by Congress, 22 USC §6563, and is an "independent establishment," id citing 5 USC §104.

USAID continues to exist as much as the Social Security Administration does. The President is violating the law and the Constitution.
If Trump, Musk, and the crew abolish USAID, NED, and other such entities, can those entities be re-established by a future administration? It is only February 2025, but Americans ought to be thinking about “after.”

'Prices at the pump' dominated the news when gas prices were going up. (Now .... when was the last time you saw a news segment filmed at a gas station?)

'Have you seen the price of eggs?' was taken as "people who really understand the country" insight circa Oct 2024. And now...
I will never not be mad that legacy media allowed "the price of eggs" to stand in for "we're too fucking racist and misogynistic to vote for Harris" and now there isn't a single giddamn word about it. Meanwhile, at Publix today there are just a handful of egg cartons going for 8 bucks each:

Why indeed?
If NYC can do universal pre-K why can't Connecticut?
New York’s successful universal pre-K program is a testament to the ability of city government to execute ambitious and seemingly durable policies that help families across class and race and borough.
