Can’t believe I’ve been sleeping on Michael Powell’s ‘Bluebeard’s Castle’ all these years. The way it distills lust, terror and passion into blazing primary colours is astonishing. And it’s so playful with form; the treasure room overlaid on BB’s face like veins is a tremendous bit of storytelling.

I'm still in the thrall of the BBC's Powell & Pressburger double-bill from last Saturday afternoon. Beautiful prints of The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp and I Know Where I'm Going!
