It’s all disconnect and lackluster user exp. Our stripe portal needs optimized (it’s really confusing atm), our authO flow is clunky and priced for enterprise, and we only recently pick a ui component library. I want these things to make us move faster but only if they have stronger best practices

I’m not sure if I’m going crazy… but I’m on mobile and I can click to view the sets. I’m assuming it allows me to mass follow people in sets ??

Bluesky feels more authentic than the microwaved threads in Twitter…so I’m giving this content a chance :)

Maybe I’ll post more about the countless mistakes I’ve made and the few “right” moves that keep us going

I also just want to put out a beacon out there to connect w fellow builders :) #saas

I went from remote bootstrapped to raising money and good growth (and burn) only to come full circle …

Why share this ?

I could be creative, I could try to remove pain, and yes… I could have freedom to not commute to crappy gigs.

The journey has been great… but also complete cognitive torture at times. You feel such a broader range of emotions… which is scary if you love a rather muted life (I did)

I never wanted to be an entrepreneur. I thought business owners were kind of lame (or disgruntled, or generally unhappy). I thought corp America was soulless, gutless.

But the idea of building something that solves a painful problem …

That hit everything for me …

I was able to make this promise because my rent was $350/mo and my “day job” was a mixture of social work and freelance marketing.

Not all have that low of a burn but if you’re expenses are sub $2K/mo… the sky is the limit for risk taking

Why did they do this ?

Simple

I interviewed them for hours. I was their business therapist

I dug deep into the most annoying problems when running their business

I used their language to create a pre sell PDF

And guaranteed if they disliked the product I would refund them

Genres typically own a single emotion. Love, hate, greed, angst, rebellious, joy…

When someone does a “crossover” it weird because the emotions clash

I think it was zoning and regulatory capture

The problem is almost anti capitalistic in nature because of this
