The pitch was for the management and marketing people at Black Isle and it dumbed down the vision of the game so they would sign off on it, which they did.

The story she told distorted every detail, because she wanted to cause harm, not be truthful. For instance, she made it sound like they were alone in a room. They weren't and couldn't have been. They were in a hotel hallway with two witnesses, who "realized nothing", during a busy convention.
