If Trudeau resigns this week, here’s the likely sequence:
1) Prorogation.
2) He remains PM during 3-4 month race
Not much changes though unless we elect an outsider not from the current caucus & usual contenders. Anything less is cementing a Trump-like Poilievre victory

Google is not making Bard available in Canada. Seems like the sort of thing that will put Canada at a competitive disadvantage if companies are afraid to launch AI here - https://mobilesyrup.com/2023/05/11/heres-why-googles-bard-ai-chatbot-is-available-in-180-countries-but-not-canada/

To be able to replace agencies with AI , clients will need to accurately describe what they want.

I want to make sure the Canadians here know my Mom’s side is from there. Grampie Palmatier fought in WWII with Royal Canadian Navy, his brother was killed with RCAF, my great great grandfather was mayor of Winnipeg for four days then lost the recount.

Is it just me or does ever Google IO give off the vibe of being the wish.com version of an Apple keynote.

Think that algo needs some work yet @bsky.app
👋 We're changing up the What's Hot feed!

We've decided to not show some types of content in the feed (e.g. sexually explicit images). This content is allowed on the app, but since What's Hot has become the landing point for all of our new users, we're updating this simple placeholder algorithm.

I see the Washington Post, Bloomberg and CNN (at least Jaketapper.blysky.social) are here. Any other media outlets yet? Curious how many others are setting up a presence on Bluesky given Elon’s hostility to the media

I have ChatGPT Plus but still don’t have any of the new beta features like browsing or plugins enabled . Many others in the same boat or does @sama and @gdb just not like Canadians

Would love to hear from those who have been here for awhile what makes this a better alternative to Twitter? Seems like a more curated and interesting user group, but that’s because it’s only early adopters right now and you could achieve the same with Twitter lists. So why better in the long run?

After 2 months of great travel for work & fun to Australia, Fiji, Whistler, San Diego and Toronto, this month I am off to… Kansas City. Any reccos on what to see and do? I am told the Americans call it the Paris of the Prairies although everyone know Saskatoon is the rightful holder of that title.
