Starmer’s Labour lacks all ruthlessness in dealing with the right. It’s a herbivore in a carnivore’s world.

They’re reporting it like some near-death experience for a major world leader. It’s genuinely weird.

If by fiscal indicators you mean more defence spending, that’s happening here, but obviously Germany has much further to go.

Not sure. It’s possible that Labour does accept it, but the closer entangling of our security arrangements with the US requires a longer transition and consequently an intermediate handling strategy that avoids short-term antagonism. At least, that’s what I’m hoping.

It’s useful for Europe to understand that America can’t be relied on any more. I’m not sure America is prepared for what logically follows; that Europe will no longer feel any obligation to do what America tells it to.

My youngest had to spend about four days in hospital (accompanied by my wife) on holiday in Italy in 2012. Really fantastic care, no cost. Just had to sign a form. But that was in the old days when we were part of the EU.

Are the Hobbits moaning about FOH as if it’s somehow unfair? Maybe if they owned their own club they’d feel like contributing more to its success. Just a thought.

Looks interesting, but I’m not a subscriber, so can’t read. I remember games a Tynecastle at election times in the 80s. Lots of Labour stickers, a few SNP, zero Tory. It’s probably the reverse Lab-SNP ratio now, I expect. Hearts fans are not where some people think they are.

I can’t see what the Telegraph claims he said because of the paywall, but I suspect they were twisting his words a bit.

Can’t see what Sarwar actually said and I’m not about to pay the Telegraph to find out. If it’s anything like the headline, I’m surprised it wasn’t reported elsewhere.

The penalty they got was an absolute joke, but no acknowledgement of that of course.

Has he actually said that? What’s that from? There’s no link and it isn’t showing up in any online search.

What’s fair can be debated, but hopefully we can all agree that a system in which the wealthiest pay a smaller proportion of their income in tax than the poorest is unfair.

Clarke will bring him on with five minutes left when we’re already two goals down just so Aberdeen fans can have a moan about him.

Expecting the wealthy to pay their fair share (they don’t) is hardly “someone else can pay for it”ism.
