Disability benefit cuts will push over 250,000 people, including 50,000 children, into poverty.

So I asked the Chancellor — who earns over £150,000, accepted £7,500 in free clothes & took freebie tickets to see Sabrina Carpenter — if Austerity 2.0 is the "change" people voted for?

Instead of slashing welfare and disability benefits — forcing more disabled people and children into poverty — the government could introduce a 2% tax on assets over £10 million.

It would raise £24 billion — five times the savings from these cuts.

This is austerity 2.0

I know where I stand on austerity.

That's why I voted to scrap the two-child benefit cap, opposed the means-testing for winter fuel payments, & will vote against cuts to welfare & disability benefits.

Instead of targeting the most vulnerable, the government should tax the rich.

Israeli tanks have entered the occupied West Bank for the first time in 20 years.

Over 40,000 Palestinians have been forcibly displaced. This is ethnic cleansing & annexation.

Israel must be held to account. We need a full arms embargo, & all economic & diplomatic ties severed.

The government has actively facilitated genocide in Gaza, including through its continued arms sales to the Israeli military.

Today in Parliament, I reintroduced my Bill to suspend all arms sales to Israel & hold the government accountable for its role in enabling such horrors.

Since the Gaza ceasefire was announced, Israeli bombardment has killed at least 71 Palestinians and injured over 200.

The ICC arrest warrants for Netanyahu remain active — if he sets foot in the UK, the government must enforce them.

War crimes cannot go unpunished.

I just voted for the Renters Rights Bill to ban no-fault evictions & hold landlords to account — vital steps toward recognising housing as a right.

To truly solve the housing crisis, we need rent controls & a new generation of council housing for secure affordable homes for all.

Austerity has been discredited & 330,000+ deaths prove its deadly impact.

Yet benefit cuts are being briefed & disabled people are again made to pay the price for “calming” the markets.

Austerity with a red rosette is still austerity.

This isn’t the “change” people voted for.
