Husband and father. Retired pastor and current writer of short stories, who has not yet progressed from "working on a novel" to "publishing a novel." Sigh.
Sometimes the Times has good reporting... but it OFTEN has terrible headline writers.

Thanks, I sampled the e-books! I look forward to finding a new fave!

Where would one start in reading her work?

I would just note that in the end, the Blues Brothers were in jail.

Don't forget to add Congress, which the (according to the Constitution) is supposed to be the primary authority over tariffs.

Thank you for representing (some of) us people of faith. Hm, I notice Common Prayer for today: "Grant us courage to cry out against injustice."

Bluesky really needs a "sad/angry" emoji.

Kathy and I went to the Eugene rally. I wrote down 28 sign messages, a small fraction of the total. (I'm told the police estimated the crowd at 2500.) My favorite:
OMG
GOP
WTF

Thank you for throwing whatever sand you can into the gears.

And it leaves us with Peter, sitting in the courtyard, outside the seat of power. "Weren't you with him?"

I take mental health days with no news allowed. Except that every now and then my wife says "Oh my God!" while staring at her computer screen. And I say "what??" and then I get the news. :)

I hope your journey ends in a safe place.

So much this! But not only messaging. We need some ONE to rally behind.

Well, it's nice to see SOMEBODY standing up to the bully. Columbia's got problems, and they've just bought themselves another one, but good for... oh. Kathy just read something aloud: Columbia just agreed to accept deportation flights. Never mind.

I appreciate the work of Father Flancez, and yours.

Not sure why but I can't get to the rest of the thread. Nevertheless, I'm glad to read that you're "dabbling again"!

I wish the churches would provide a justice-oriented leader for these days as effective as Dr. King was in his. (I would also be happy for such a leader to come from any other source!)

Thank you for providing this information, and blessings on your work in opposition to the Trump tax plans.

I'm waiting for two or three liberal billionaires to buy a building and a few hundred computers, and hire *every single worker* at the LA Times to come work for them. Form a "Times-In-Exile." Maybe pick up a few former WaPo folks, too. A fantasy, but a fun one.

Okay about that picture. I'm a little amazed that the horse could rear with King Donald aboard, but I am very sure that this particular King would not stay in the saddle.

I love watching the Vaux's Swifts, just fascinating. But this brings a whole new intricacy to the experience. Thanks.

So beautiful. I mean, I wouldn't want to be a salmon, but I admire their determination.

A remarkable accomplishment. And now it gets even harder! Go Ducks!
