Ha! You can add that to your list of interests for UGD students and DA applicants next year - although I doubt there would be much interest among the Gen Z group for that very niche topic.
Hmmmm maybe it had to do with Mary Robinson being the *first* female President?

I also had mostly female teachers in primary school - if gender had any bearing on the no homework decision?

We might also have just been lucky!

I had a look at a press release about job cuts from a nearby large university .

I was struck by how each paragraph started off positively but then lapsed into treacly platitudes.

So I thought I'd help them out with their argument structure.
That might be a thing! You've jogged some memory there, Marc.

Vital piece of investigative reporting from Sky. They've uncovered the X algorithm which feeds users extremist right wing material from the moment they join the site. It is a far-right radicalisation engine, by design.

Forget the DJ gigs. Forget the music releases. Forget the countless hours put into college work.

My 15-year-old niece just announced that she's into Kendrick Lamar.

I am taking full credit for this, my greatest achievement!

Qualitative research isn't a consolation prize for when we can't get 'real' numbers. It's a different way of knowing; one that captures complexity, context, and meaning that statistics alone cannot provide.
It's giving "Live, laugh, love" vibes
Sounds like you have some treasure in that collection 😊
Still a classic record too!

I had others before that cassette (I think a Roy Orbison Greatest Hits), but Queen was the first one I remember buying myself.

I didn't buy records til a little later, and the first few I bought were terrible Eurotrance records that have not aged well!
No lying or making yourself out to be the cool kid.

Post the first record you bought.

Queen Live At Wembley cassette - Golden Discs, downstairs in Todds, Limerick.

I told the man it was my tenth birthday and he knocked a couple of pounds off the price too!

Ged Nash says Tánaiste's comments last week were "the kind you'd hear from a misinformed bloke in the pub who gets his information from Facebook".

So far I've heard some really rich and interesting stories from my participants on how second-gen identity is negotiated in contemporary Ireland.

Still looking for more participants, and would appreciate another push from my Irish followers if possible 🙏

What does it mean to call Ireland 'home'?

This is what I'm trying to find out - still looking for suitable participants!

Please get in touch if you or someone you know might be interested in sharing their story.

“Bonferonni correction”, an invaluable method in #statistics, refers to the act of repeatedly correcting misspellings of the word Bonferroni at multiple places in a draft manuscript.

Wondering if I should bother correcting 'Awfully' to 'Offaly'.

Immigration is not only not too high, but down from its 2007 peak.

Harris and the other clowns are feeding a beast that will never, ever be satisfied, and is electorally insignificant, as we've seen time and again.

Immigration numbers are too high. We have to listen to the people in this country. The increase is too high.

I haven’t been this excited for a bubble to burst since I was a toddler.
MIT’s NANDA initiative found that 95% of generative AI deployments fail after interviewing 150 execs, surveying 350 workers, and analyzing 300 projects. The real “productivity gains” seem to come from layoffs and squeezing more work from fewer people not AI.
MIT report: 95% of generative AI pilots at companies are failing
There’s a stark difference in success rates between companies that purchase AI tools from vendors and those that build them internally.

Ireland elects an independent, socialist woman to the position of president.

Irish Media: ‘Today, we ask what went wrong with the system, what her opponents have to say about it, and how it can be fixed for next time.’

The one conclusion they will assiduously avoid, of course, is that Catherine Connolly just won this election because a majority of voters want her to be the president, and that they want her to be the president because of her politics.

The caption made it look like the Green leader was taken aback by the sheer size of the Connolly lead in this tally.
