I’m into football, books (fantasy & sci fi especially), pop/rock music, art, nature/environmentalism, travel… I’m an English/Criminology teacher/teacher-trainer in Carlisle, born near Manchester. Married to Teresa and father of Heather, Liam and Lauren.
Loads of classics in 1983, with these four among my faves…Been lucky enough to see U2 and Big Country live, plus Peter Buck of REM recently with Luke Haines (Auteurs). 🎸🤗 Hope to see Tears for Fears if a suitable north of England date on their next tour. 🤞🏼

Folded Sky finished - hugely enjoyable. Struck me as a book written by someone who loves Star Trek, Interstellar, Lost in Space and the occasional Shakespeare sonnet. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Angel Maker next… 😊

Terrific gig by @lukehaines.bsky.social Peter Buck and The Minus 5 at Newcastle last night. Loads of fab guitar work, Linda Pitman drumming superbly. Big thanks to Scott and Linda for chatting in the pub beforehand and Luke for post-gig autograph. Top people and excellent live music. 🥁🎸😎👏🏼

I’m sure it will find its way onto many people’s bookshelves and they’ll be happy for that… I’ve enjoyed all your writing that I’ve acquired so far. 😊

Did you know that in the 70s she wrote loads of “easy reader” horror/science books under the pseudonym Ian Thorne?

Hey, plenty of us in England despise the pampered layabouts who take billions of our money every year and live in luxury as the working folk struggle…

I had this! He had a long pipeline to “breathe from” while he was underwater (usually in the bath 😆).

Wobble has some great books, too. Julian May’s Saga of the Exiles is excellent!

Any gig with a sax or some trumpets etc is a great gig. Saw Spear of Destiny recently (never saw them back then) and the saxes lined up beforehand confirmed it would be fab.
