I wrestled in college (not my senior year). Removing big money removed from college sports would help more football and basketball athletes be serious students. But it’s not going to happen.

After reading the article sports could be a legitimate major or minor. I certainly appreciate the benefits of athletics.
I would add that school always came easy to me. Later in life I recognized in HS wrestling was really the only thing I seriously studied and is where I learned to study.

My first reaction of offering a major in sports is negative but after I read the article I will reevaluate. I would hope it would be more than being an excellent athlete and would be available to non-athletes as well.
