This isn’t really a partisan thing and it probably makes me more mad than any of the other TX flooding stuff.

We are just far too accommodating of people in denial about reality.
In 2011, FEMA's National Flood Insurance map was updated to include Camp Mystic in a "Special Flood Hazard Area." Camp Mystic fought that designation, getting 15 of the buildings removed in 2013, and 15 more in 2019–20.

You can change the map, but that doesn't change reality.
FEMA removed dozens of Camp Mystic buildings from 100-year flood map before expansion, records show
Federal regulators repeatedly granted appeals to remove Camp Mystic’s buildings from their 100-year flood map, as the camp operated and expanded in a dangerous flood plain in the years before rushing ...

Who sites a summer camp in a floodplain, in an area that experiences flash-floods?

Why would any government OK this use case? Religion trumping life?

I am sad that these girls are gone.

Facts, history, and effective government matter, as the State of Texas shows us time after time.

New in PN: Judge rules that anti-woke is just racism

The Trump Admin is showing 4 important things to the U.S.:

1) Showing the true value provided by US Gov't Agencies by reducing or or removing them.
2) Business leaders suck at government.
3) Power is split across the Presidency, Congress, and Judiciary for reasons.
4) Autocrats are fragile.

"If illegal immigrants are taking advantage of the U.S., and not paying taxes as the Republican leadership claims, why is the current administration using IRS data to find illegal immigrants who don't pay taxes?
