Her website made it look like she retained all of her big endorsers in 2021 but I wonder if she just recycled them without asking.

I watch a lot of home design videos on YouTube and I see a lot more of it than I used to, especially at the high end.

It was a known concern from the outset. The broader point I was trying to make is that it's a lame retort to pretend that the people that are upset about this see fed workers as disposable pawns, the issue is that the deal on the table does not justify the sacrifices they already made.

That’s where I’m at, they should have given this another week. You already had Newsmax anchors telling Republican Senators they were going to have endless bad coverage in front of airports and food banks if they let this continue.

I also think some of that goes both ways. Some people have conveniently latched onto arguments centering the welfare of federal workers that weren’t doing that a week or two ago.

That’s fair. I also don’t think most people upset about this were arguing for keeping this up forever. I think you can reasonably disagree about whether this was the right time to pull the plug.

Indefinite closure was obviously not an option but i do wonder how another week of mounting pressure and chaos at airports right before Thanksgiving might have played out.

Not arguing with the premise but would be interesting to see how that chart changes for the cities where most of this site’s user base actually lives.

if all merchants decide to play the same game or you're one that has some kind of unique offering, sure. Otherwise, why not go somewhere else that doesn't do this?

I can only see places that aren't invested in a repeat customer experience or ones that already surcharge/already get mostly cash transactions to try this.

Maybe but that seems like it's going to translate to an extremely poor customer experience.

I guess the idea is Schumer has leverage to shut down these conversations before they even start. But considering one of the lead "cavers" is retiring next year this seems...questionable.

This seems like a mess to implement. How is anyone going to know if they have the wrong type of Visa until using it at the point of sale, especially at places like restaurants when payment is after the fact?
