Jaws of Hakkon is my favorite Inquisition DLC, and that moment the Inquisitor shares with Ameridan is the highlight of it. I love me some character parallels.

So I made a #ffxiv cosplay for no reason in particular.
My FFXIV Character, Nanatoki, dressed as Karkat from Homestuck. He's wearing a black sweater, grey cargo pants and black shoes.He has fluffy black hair and horns that transition from red at the base to yellow at the tip. My WoL Nanatoki Kokotoki (he/him) is a trans man. He realized that he was trans around fifteen, and his sister's always been supportive of him. At this point, he's almost thirty and is confident in himself and his gender. He prefers his hair long but The Narrative keeps making him cut it.

I'm writing The Child of Dust and Ashes, an adaptation of Dragon Age: Origins starring my Hero of Ferelden, Helsi Brosca.

“Step behind me.” Adlasan did as he was asked. Zevran flipped the knife twice, catching it by the handle each time. Then, he raised it and threw it directly into a nearby tree. He walked back to his arboreal target and yanked the blade out of the trunk. “Same principle.” Zevran said. “You’re really making the blade do the same thing. One rotation, then it hits the target.” “Wow.” Adlasan said. “Just like in the books.” “Close.” Zevran said. “It’s really just a trick. Throwing a blade is not a very good strategy in a real fight.” “Why not?” Adlasan said. “They expect you to stay close with the knife. But then you get them at range.” “That is how it works in the books.” Zevran said. “When you’re really fighting, you are giving up a lot of control. Even the most practiced throw can fail because of factors beyond your control. Plus, the blade is no longer in your hand for you to use, and quickly traveling towards someone who likely wants to do you harm. Do you want to hand them another weapon, at the expense of yourself?” “...I guess not.” Adlasan said. “I never thought about it that way.” Zevran wiped the blade of the knife off on his shirt, then held it by the blade with the handle towards Adlasan. “Keep practicing.” He said. “Consider it a parting gift.” “Wait, are you sure?” Adlasan said. “It’s...such a good blade.” “I have plenty.” Zevran said with a shrug. “Besides, times are dangerous. If you can use it well, you can defend yourself. Or at least buy yourself the time you need to run.” “...Thanks.” Adlasan said. “I’ll take good care of it.”
