This is kind of correct, but it also isn't entirely since it leaves out that dems wanted to end gerrymandering but Republicans didn't want to. So yeah, if a gerrymandering war is what we need to get eventual legislation, so be it.
We’ve sunk so far into the redistricting mess that politicians are basically saying, “Oh, you made your state less democratic? Fine, I’ll do the same in mine.” And we clap, because we’ve been trained to see power only as leaders gaming the system—not as something we could actually hold ourselves.

In context of the 3,000 arrests/day mandate, this means turbocharging arrests in construction, child&elder care, delivery services, transport, manufacturing. It also means desperate ICE agents prowling the streets for victims. Courts, check-ins, and interviews will be ground zero for arrests...
Important further info: the email was sent only to ICE HSI, the arm of ICE more traditionally involved in worksite raids.
It applies to any agricultural facility, restaurants, and hotels, and bars arresting workers, really.

She was a fearless journalist who reported on AIDS in the 80s (when Reagan was ignoring it), lifted up the LGBTQ community, & rooted out corruption.
Her wife, Maddy Gold, died of cancer in 2022.
