A month after a Milby High School student died after being struck by a train on his way to school, Harris County has been awarded up to a $2 million grant to assess the safety of more than a dozen railroad crossings in the Houston area. 
Harris County receives $2 million federal grant to assess safety of East End railroad crossings
The funding will be used for an assessment of 14 at-grade railroad crossings in Houston’s East End, where a 15-year-old Milby High School student was struck and killed by a train in December.
