Attempting to do some comparison shopping on log splitters, and Canadian Tire specs are pretty much useless. One showing 50" (4+ feet!) max log diameter, another showing 3". 🤔

Apply liquid nail adhesive to the pieces to be joined and nail on both sides to finish.

Cut through both boards with a circular saw. If you can't cut through both boards at the same time, detach the boards after the first board is cut through and carefully follow along the started cut on the bottom board to finish.

Overlap two boards by at least 3x the width of the pieces to be spliced. In my case, 2x6s, so the overlap is >18" (3*6). Temporary screw the boards together. Draw a triangle centered on the end of the boards, 18" long.

I made a 20' 2x6 out of a 16' + 8' 2x6 and here's how:

Had some gravel delivered and found a definitely gold nugget (probably not). Would be a baller advertising strategy to add random gold nuggets to deliveries though.

When making rafter birdsmouth cuts, the old adage changes to: "attempt to work out the geometry by hand once, measure once, see if it could work once, redo math once, try again once, cut once, learn how to use speed square on yt once, measure twice, cut once, then trace and cut ten more times"

First, I enjoy the app. Second, is it possible to estimate an asteroid's volume given the diameters, because I would like to know how many swimming pools? Third, oh my, the NASA api is so bloated with derivative measurements (one set would do).

File this under, "I almost did it, then failed spectacularly, somehow with no damage to myself or the building materials"
