The way of the world right now

I genuinely can’t work out if the faux outrage at the BBC not having The Queens Speech this year is satire or just thick as pig shit ignorance

In August we had a tiny hedgehog come into the garden 1 hot afternoon. This is not normal so we contacted our local hog rescue centre who took her in. She was the size of a lemon and underweight. Once healthy she went to a foster home to get her weight up. Tonight shes back. Mini Mo is now home.

Today I hosted an awards for volunteers. Over 400 of them in the room aged 10 to 86. Stories of inspiration. People who think helping others is a given and not a chore.

In a world that seems to be brimming with hate & anger it’s nice to be reminded that there are many people who do care for others

King Charles wearing all his military medals at this big tea banquet thingy.

Trump wearing a nappy and more orange than a Dutch football stadium full of home fans.

At least his part time wife has taken that bloody stupid lampshade off her head.

Things that annoy me number 7593

Keyboard warriors who start posts with “what they should do is”. Because nothing says expert more than a bloke sitting on his arse at home criticising somebody qualified to do the actual job

Just come off hold to a company whose message said “visit us online at WWW.” Noooooooo. It’s 2025. Why do companies still think you need to start a website address with WWW. ??

@stereounderground.bsky.social on @rewindtv.bsky.social with @richardlatto.bsky.social has been on fire this week. So many great songs and so many wonderful specials

I just wish they wouldn’t play Baba O’Riley as it’s my ringtone so as soon as the intro starts I pick up my phone and start talking 😆

It’s upsetting watching Live Aid 40, and the three part documentary, and realising nowadays many would call you “woke” for trying to do something to help children suffering in another country.

The always outstanding @stereounderground.bsky.social on @rewindtv.bsky.social have just played my favourite single of the 1980s. Once In A Lifetime by Talking Heads. 44 years old and still sounds absolutely amazing

On Saturday I’ll be one of a number of Hull folk in London for a trip to Wembley.

I feel I must apologise in advance for

Chatting to you on the tube
Asking for gravy on our chips
Excessive use of the phrase “HOW MUCH ?”

I’m a straight middle aged guy. I’ve worked Pride and I’ve attended Pride and I’ve absolutely loved it. An event about friendship, inclusion, acceptance and above all love. What’s not to like ?

It’s a day full of happiness. The world needs more of those not less.
