Kids can act up because of a change in the home/school/family etc. They will do that, not out of malice but because they need reaffirmation of the rules, the hierarchy structure or some attention in general. It doesn't mean they are bad kids .

I would say to invite their kids to a lot of things actually and try to undo some of the brainwash.

Games like age of empires and civilisations 2 and 3, europa universalis 2, inspired me to try to become a history teacher (but then i changed career paths)

All of it actually has very nice lore and a big fanbase. and the bioware games are good. If you don't know them and like rpgs you should check then out

Warhammer is English and about badass soldiers fighting all the time in medieval or future setting
American is blizzard and also about fighting all the time
And the last ones are bioware games also about the same.
