I do wish there was just a better way to make people see this shit but the fact that companies choose that platform to interact with their fandom (or bots who tf knows), and some ppl still being convinced that "any algo is better than no algo so I can gain more followers" makes this really hard :/
I'm begging any artists still using Twitter claiming it's integral to their work to just leave. It's been revealed the site works off a made up "credit score" from hell and punishes you for posting like a normal human being.

Abandon Twitter for good. It's time. It's been time.

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

USA has been trying to enact KOSA for years and we're not alone. This push for online surveillance and censorship is a trend across western and west-allied governments. See for example the UK reclaimthenet.org/the-uks-onli...
The UK’s Online "Safety" Act Is Here — And Free Speech Is on Notice
A law meant to protect users now arms platforms with broad powers to erase lawful speech.

If it is within your ability to any degree, please try to call at least Speaker Mike Johnson (remind him he opposed KOSA last year and you support him in doing that again), Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, and your rep and senators.

kosa/online ID sets a very dangerous precedent, so please contact your representatives!!
Some key takeaways from today’s hearing:

-Many acknowledged that Senate KOSA is a threat to free expression.

-Bills discussed have similar issues to KOSA, esp online ID checks.

-The bad idea that surveillance + censorship will keep kids safe online drove the discussion.

KEEP AT EM! ✊
NEW: We hosted a live-stream of today's House Energy & Commerce committee hearing to provide commentary + analysis as Congress considers bills that would mandate online ID checks across the internet and censor very important resources for young people.

Keep fighting KOSA, folks! This fight isn't over til this bill and all the other dangerous censorship bills are dead and buried. Bug your reps no matter what and tell them to oppose and in full detail why. We can't let this crap pass and we can't ignore it.

Stop KOSA
KOSA is a censorship bill that won’t make kids safe. Instead, it'll put all internet users at risk, especially youth. If you believe in a free and open internet, tell your lawmakers to reject #KOSA!

it's quite annoying how "racebending" doesn't matter to people especially bigots as long as you don't make the characters black or super brown.

Some potential good news out of yesterday's theatrical House hearing on internet censorship bills. A pre-emption provision has even KOSA supporters like NCOSE abandoning the House version.

With ten days to go, there seems to be little appetite for KOSA or age-verification bills in general.

We did something different with the credits for Demonschool. We used this format: name, title, lengthy description of what they did. Often you see credits in games where you don't know what the credited developer was actually responsible for. We wanted to give people proper, actual credit.

it's kind of a moral obligation to bully harry potter fans into making them feel insecure with themselves. you don't even have to mention rowling being a snivelling fascist. you can just point out every harry potter fan is a 12 year old who never grew up with poorly developed taste

As I mentioned in a blog post on Sunday, November 30, KOSA, SCREEN and all other bills like it do absolutely nothing to protect children.

All these bills are designed to do one thing and one thing only: completely destroy the US Constitution.

keep calling your reps. keep pressuring them.
KOSA has been stopped in its tracks from passing before due to multiple people speaking out against it, we can do it again.
those behind these "online safety" bills do NOT care about children in the slightest. it never was about their safety.
You shouldn’t have to present your ID, credit card info, or face to be scanned just to access your favorite sites, news, or games yet this is the growing reality for Internet users globally. We need a firestorm to take down online ID checks for good-- so we planned one. Join us for a week of action!

The Heritage Foundation says this explicitly
You just know she thinks that if kids weren't able to go online, they wouldn't get ideas like "being gay and/or trans is OK".
I feel like half of KOSA supporters are "won't somebody think of the children!!" and the other half are "kids are getting their own ideas online and that's dangerous"
