UPDATED - As of 5.54pm, the Thai army continued to fire shots into civilian areas in Prey Chan, Banteay Meanchey, as border tensions escalate along the Cambodia-Thailand frontier, according to the Minister of Information.

The tension at the border has escalated very quickly in recent days after the landmine incident, Thai soldiers opened fire on civilians in Prey Chan village, Ou Beychoan commune at around 4pm, injuring five civilians, according to preliminary information from local authorities.
