Hmm... I dunno. New Hampshire and Nevada are as swingy as swing states get, Shaheen faces election next year. & Fetterman's nuts. Rose and Cortez Masto were elected as bipartisan moderate types. They might actually, and I know this is crazy, believe in keeping their promises.

I'm sure there are many other possibilities, but I agree that the Schumer is a weak leader and should go. No one in the caucus is afraid of crossing him.

The second bit seems like tin foil hat conspiracy stuff, though. Why would he want to do that? Do you think he's a Republican spy or something?

Not exactly. Very few people elected any of the 8 defectors, unless they live in Nevada or New Hampshire. Most of the angry posts I see attack "the Democrats" or the Democratic leadership, who opposed this. So those are in fact unwarranted internal recriminations. Angus King isn't even a Democrat.

And, as always, download anything you really need - whether it's a digitized image, public domain tome on Google books or archive.org, or a description of a manuscript on a website.

Wasn't there an index to the descriptions of manuscripts? Or a page with a list of them, that you could click on? This is (one of the reasons) why I like the Vatican's approach, a long list instead of say a drop down box. www.mss.vatlib.it/guii/scan/li....

There's a raging debate over the hand of Heiric of Auxerre. (hmu if anyone is following this!) See:

Ammanati 2023 Pochi ma buoni gli autografi di Heiric di Auxerre
Allen 2014 Poems by Lupus Written by Heiric

Kudos! And thanks for letting us know, I hadn't heard about that podcast.

(I want the title to be New Books On Late Antiquity, though. Is this a millennial thing like "on accident"?)

In the meantime, if you know the URL of the previous page, don't forget to try the WayBack Machine.

Also, if you need BL Harley 2735, I've got a copy.

Tons! "The tremulous hand" has been much written about. There were years of discussions on the identity of two Irish scribes signified as i1 and i2 vis a vis John Scottus Eriugena, culminating in the 1996 book by Dutton and Jeuneau "The Autograph of Eriugena" etc.

[I assume you don't the appendage)
