I suspect that the creator of Cruelty Squad might be colour blind. Because when looked through a deuteranopia filter, the colours in the game suddenly compliment each other quite nicely. Almost as though that's the intended look for the game.

Bad game design is actually just unpopular game design.
In other words, if it's something that clicks for you, well screw you, you don't get it anymore. Because other people didn't like it.
This is why I respect janky games more than highly polished ones. They dare to appeal to the non-mainstream.

I always see people bringing up the terrible 2016 Dirk Gently series with Samuel Barnett and Elijah Wood.
But no one ever seems to remember the vastly superior 2010 Dirk Gently series with Stephen Mangan and Darren Boyd.
It was like Sherlock... but really funny. About on par with the books imo.

People always say that the characters in a horror movie HAVE to be dumb, otherwise there'd be no movie.
But I find that the best horror movies, are the ones where the characters do everything you would do in the same situation, yet they still get slaughtered.

When it comes to The Wizard of Oz, people always bring up how the ruby red slippers were silver in the book. But no one ever mentions how the Emerald City isn't even green in the book, despite the name.

The way vehicles handle and drift is more fun in the original game.

Just finished Sleeping Dogs.
Every part of it is incredibly well made. The graphics look incredible, even now. The driving is like a racing game. The combat has lots of depth. The writing is top notch.
But it never quite gripped me.
Still 3 out of 3 stars.

I finished Digimon Digital Card Battle (Arena in Japan) for the PS1.
Easily the best Digimon game I've played. Engaging story, beautiful music, fun mechanics. That final boss was definitely the best part.

So I've been finishing off some games that I got stuck on years ago. I've recently completed The Sims 2 for DS, Sword of Mana for GBA, and just now Digimon World 2003 for the PS1.
It's been fun revisiting these games, sad to see them finished, and surprising to see everything is still working.

I've just found out that there's a mod for The Sims 4 to make the UI theme more akin to The Sims 2, and I can't believe how much it improves the look of the game. 😲

I've recently been playing Dungeon Keeper using KeeperFX, and boy is it fun. Especially the recreation of the DK2 My Pet Dungeon maps.
I've managed to get so many skeletons, that I can just leave the hero lever left on, without any worries. 🎮
