I don't know ATC certs but at best Mil ATC handles only terminal control not enroute, RVSM, oceanic handover etc. You can probably drop in them in any moderate traffic airport and they'd do fine (besides not knowing the airspace, instrument procedures, ground flow, local procedures etc)

Oh yeah I share the same thoughts, I think this is purely ATC controller capacity

Ah yeah, my thought is everything in A is positive IFR control so by pushing shorter flights which can make the distance with (increased) fuel that will allow them to handle the international arrivals/deps, long haul and cross country flights that have to be up there to make their destinations.

I mean Class B only covers terminal areas but probably had to do with controller availability at the enroute centers and lower work load at the lowerer altitudes since a lot of traffic is VFR

So they get a double whammy in terms of flying for longer and coupled with increased drag.

Fuel burn is definitely higher for two reasons 1) speed and 2) air density and drag
Below 10,000ft aircraft are limited to 250 knots which is about half the speed it would be at normal crushing altitudes. Then the air density induces more drag and reduces fuel efficiency.

I worked with him when he was the 82nd DCG-S when we were setting JB Charleston for the Pope runway closure. I was always extremely impressed in every interaction, he was absolutely instrumental in setting up the plan to get the 82nd IRF from Bragg to JBC which became the Kabul evac.

There are about 4,000 homes in my community and we hit maybe a hundred of them with our kids, there were 5 house in just those 100 handing out jello shots or other adult beverages and we had a several hundred kids come to our street alone many from outside the neighborhood.
