This is why we need to start reclaiming Pride as a protest, not a big party funded by companies and multinationals whose pinkwashing and ‘allyship’ has always been transitory and conditional. Big fights lie ahead and, as a community, we need to get back to our roots of protest and activism.

I can’t get over how cartoonishly evil this is
putting in your fucking “hate speech” policy that a particular kind of hate speech against a particular group of people is explicitly allowed - and therefore encouraged - is the kind of shit that should be done from a volcano lair with a shark moat

We were learning about river pollution in school and how this impacts on fish and ecosystems in the rivers, and that humans can eat the fish, etc. I was probably about 6 or 7 years old.
That evening, mum made fish fingers for tea. I was too terrified to eat it, I was convinced the fish was polluted

We’ve written to the Oxford Literary Festival to question why Helen Joyce is listed under their LGBTQ+ category. Her widely criticised views on trans inclusion make this association both insulting and tone-deaf to the LGBTQ+ community. We’ve asked for this to be corrected.
