Aster flowers. These grow outside my office, and I remember one October watching a bunch of bees go crazy over them.

I since learned that they are a fall bloom, and therefore a valuable flower for bees storing up for winter.

I once had the privilege to spend a day at a Storytelling Festival with these gardens as a setting. Listening to talented storytellers tell stories from their lives, surrounded by such beauty, was a day I'll never forget.
