#WBA fan of the happy clapper variety, generally centrist politically, all opinions my own but I respect yours may be different and that’s cool 👍🏻
So be it. Most football fans and most young people don’t understand the reality of many situations. They will act like dissatisfied customers for a while, but that shouldn’t change the owners long term plan. I believe the ends will justify the means, eventually.

Totally agree with all of that. Fair to say as well that the owners are realistic and they want Albion to be a more sustainable club before truly aiming for promotion. For now it’s all about balancing books, trading for profit, and satisfaction at just being a mid table Champ club. For now.

On the first point you may be right. On the second, surely it was down to him to be the judge of his own health and wellbeing, and I don’t get the impression that the decision was mutual, albeit you could tell he had an inkling it was coming.

No idea. I assumed that ship had sailed to be honest. Might run into the same issue again if they were to go for him.

I think Mason will remain in post unless we get dragged into the relegation battle. If he learned anything from Saturday, that shouldn’t happen.

What I don’t understand is why they sacked Mowbray, ruthlessly and mercilessly, an experienced manager loved by all (sane) Albion fans, yet they seem so keen to back Mason who is doing a lot worse and not interested in entertaining the fans like Mogga was.

Regarding Iling-Junior, I think playing him on the right is setting him up to fail. I understand he can play anywhere down the left flank, he’s a direct, get down the left and cross it in type. As a Euro U21 champion I don’t believe he’s crap, just used wrong, costing him confidence.

I don’t blame them either, given performances and results under Mason can be so exasperating, but I’m glad he’s backed for now because I don’t want to see constant managerial churn, it’s not healthy. When you appoint a rookie HC you have to accept that it will be a rocky ride for a while.

The line up for QPR next week will be very informative. He has to reward those who made yesterday’s comeback happen with starts. If Philips, Price and SIJ are back in the side then you wonder what planet he’s on.

I see what you’re saying and I’m not arguing that KG has been anywhere near worth the outlay. But a player can improve, and recently he has. I actually think that if he played up front with a Heggebø or Maja he’d do quite well and score goals, he makes good runs and we know he can finish.

I agree, he cost £3m+ if I remember correctly, and now he’s fit I expect Nestor wants to see him integrated and able to show what he can do. On the brief occasions we saw him last season, I thought he looked promising.

A certain Mr. T Bany perhaps?🤔

Seemingly not if Mason has anything to say about it
November 30, 2025 at 10:10 AM
He won’t get that anywhere else either though. So it depends on who offers what, and if he’s happy to stay despite being on a more realistic salary.

You may well be right about Dike. As for Maja and Grant, we’ll see. Maja, we know, is good but fairly injury prone. Grant was, for years, a player I couldn’t stand but I get the impression he’s upped his professional standards a lot in the last 18 months, and I can see him getting a new deal.

Looked more like a 4-2-4 to me, with the subs making a huge impact. Maja gave us cohesion in attack, Campbell and Grant provided extra pace and power down the flanks plus MJ is way less predictable on the right, and Bielik gave us composure at the back that NP lacks. More of this please Mr Mason!

Patel and Bilkul are a breath of fresh air, aiming to restore positivity and sustainability into a club that was on the edge. Us fans need to do our bit too though, and I fear these online haters have a considerable impact on opinions and the atmosphere in the stadium. It concerns me.

It’s the reason I don’t interact on that site anymore, the toxicity on there is off the charts and felt depressing when I engaged in any Albion/football discussion. Worst of all, I think it impacts the supporter culture at a time when new owners are trying to fix the mess left by Lai and co.

The second half was a great watch, the less said about the first the better! I hope today was a defining one in the season for Albion, and Mason. No one in the ground thought we’d score 3 to come back, but the subs made all the difference, and in the end it was a good day.

As for the gaffer… he rolled the dice at half time and it paid off. I thought he was done, that the fans had fully turned on him. Yet the Molumby celebration with him looked like a team making a point - they like Mason, they’re playing for him, and they dug him out of a hole today.
November 29, 2025 at 7:55 PM
Griffiths had an iffy game, the second goal went through his hands and he seemed to be rooted to his line all game after initially being lobbed for their first. An off day, most weeks he’s been solid.
November 29, 2025 at 7:55 PM
Those who went off need to look in the mirror. Gilchrist and Iling-Junior made for a horrible right side. Phillips looked slow and his distribution is always an issue. Price, nowhere to be seen. He needs to learn from Maja and want the ball, and to link with his team mates more. Take responsibility.
November 29, 2025 at 7:55 PM
Some who started really upped it too. Styles, Mowatt and Molumby just never stopped running and battling. Mepham looked more assured next to Bielik. Johnston was far less predictable on the right and fizzed in crosses. Heggebø was no longer isolated and when he gets service, he scores goals.
