This week 50 years ago, German "Der Spiegel" covered on post-oil crisis recession (unemployment had doubled in 1974, annual real growth was zero). Headline Q was more than just business cycle policy: "Will the market economy remain?" Feels like a question now being asked for almost four full years.

We have a new textbook on political economy out that seeks to wed CPE and IPE. It has some digital goodies for students and instructors, and I hope it's also useful for discussing the continuous transformation of (global) economic orders in the classroom. link.springer.com/book/10.1007...
