I think that's why one of the default Small Talk Subjects is the weather: it's easy. It's benign. Most people aren't exactly passionate about it, but everyone experiences weather in a way that's not true for, say, Last Night's Big Game

I get what you're saying re: the "not about me" aspect, though. I'll admit it's often hard for me to talk about topics that don't personally interest me or that I'm ignorant of, and I'm not often in the mood to learn about new things from strangers I'm forced into small talk with

It's so fucking good. 10 year old me would've never dreamed of eating french fries with mayo AND YET. It's so much richer though that it doesn't quite work (to my palate) for certain mayo things, like tuna salad
