yes!! i was born in 91. didn't get into the weird stuff til the mid-2000's but that period in time when i did, i hold it very dear. haha i remember one of my first introductions to that genre of media was i, robot 😂😂 still love it. wanna eventually read the book

i actually was insanely excited about frankenstein bc what better speculation on the nature of humanity than that story?? but was devastated to learn my area would not get a copy for theatres. i feel personally attacked by this decision????? at any rate, i guess i'm content to watch it on netflix...

no actual hate to the ppl that work on them n the ppl that enjoy them, obv!! but it's like once you've seen one you've seen em all. i also really enjoy going to the theatres but haven't wanted to go in the past few years bc of the absolute regurgitated easy-money slop coming out of these studios.

that being said, i enjoyed silo and severance VERY MUCH. more media like this pls. like it hasn't disappeared. it's just less frequent now. is it safe to call my account a superhero movie/show hate account???? lol. like they're good blockbusters but they're formulaic at this point.

philip k dick adaptations... the matrix movies... serial experiments lain... ghost in the shell... etc... there was this kind of deep cultural speculation on the implications of widespread technology, both apprehensive and optimistic............. and now it's just superhero movies hahahahahaha

i feel this. i took a year off art long ago and surprisingly discovered i enjoy doing non-art things and marveled at how it took me so long to realize that, and kind of got sad that i've missed cultivating other interests as a result of 'the art kid' being my whole identity, self imposed or no.
