I know everything is terrible but rewatching Pen15 is very restorative to the soul.

My dad was tortured by the Gestapo for 4 days and thrown in a concentration camp for being in the Norwegian Resistance. Growing up, he would tell me things he learned in the Resistance. I thought, I'm never going to need this stuff. Here's some of those things #Thread

I was so incredibly thrilled when I started this audiobook and heard one of my favourite comedian/performers Kate Berlant reading it! #booksky #alphabetdiaries

At the risk of sounding like a book snob, it depresses me when someone asks for book recommendations and people recommend Clan of the Cave Bear or Shantaram. MUCH MUCH better books exist nowadays, guys! Also today in one of those threads someone said, "there's always the bible." 😭

I just started this audiobook today and I can tell it's going to be one of my favourite reads this year. Brilliant! #booksky #PercivalEverett

I came across this gem on an Alaska Airlines flight and it's now one of my favourite movies. It's like the Life Aquatic meets Grizzly Man but with volcanoes. When narrator Miranda July referred to them as "these freaks" I died. #moviesky #fireoflove

I’m still on a documentary watching streak. The true crime ones are mostly for background noise while I do other things. Loved the two music docs. #moviesky #letterboxdfriday

The power has been out all day but I don’t mind because I’ve been able to really dig into this. It’s got everything. Hot spies, French leftist communist cults, sabotage, Neanderthals, modern cave dwellers. I will read anything Rachel Kushner writes. #creationlake #booksky

The latest memoir I finished reading is one of my faves of 2024. Her ordeal was absolutely terrifying. I'm so happy for her that she didn't have to serve the 9 years she was sentenced to!

Ha! we just watched It Follows the other night and it had me googling to see if the clamshell e-reader is real. It's definitely one of the most intriguing things created for a movie.
why on earth has nobody made this yet?

if we had flip phones 20 years ago, shirley we can have flip e-readers today.

I’ll be thinking about this novel for a long time. Definitely recommend for any dystopian fiction readers. I Who Have Never Known Men by Jacqueline Harpman. It was first published in the 90’s and translated into English in 2019. #booksky

I have 236 books on my TBR list and I still spend time most days watching booktube/bookstagram for new books to add.
