Happy 3D Day everybody!
Today I’m sharing this procedural teapot 🫖 you probably know well, to use in Blender

Godot viewport makes this cool effect when the compositor output goes below 0

The new SDF grids add so many possibilities. I did a small test for procedural cave generation

Does this count as an Inktober post?

Inflating a bezier into a distance field with some noise

The new SDF geometry nodes in Blender 5 are really interesting

It’s beautiful. It also guessed a color I like!

As I feared, Liquid Glass comes with inconsistent UI. It’s still using the old keyboard for apps that didn’t update it I guess

Lately I’ve getting my Obsidian second brain up to date
I enjoy watching the graph animation now that it’s big

I also took the chance to buy a good mouse for cheap while in Shenzhen. This has a led screen where I can display 1-bit art!

Back to Huaquangbei museum, they had this cool holographic, interactive panel to explain the electronics production/distribution chain
August 20, 2025 at 2:52 PM
This was in Shenzhen too: the construction cabins featured a stacking modular design and glass panel windows. Note how they can be joined horizontally to make meeting rooms and vertically to make staircases

We took this super long bridge-underwater tunnel from Hong Kong to Macao 😮

In this case I was surprised by the low-tech solution still employed in Hong Kong for scaffolding

Huaqiangbei street in Shenzhen is the electronics hub of the city. There’s a museum explaining the history of their industry, and hundreds if not thousands of small electronics shops, many of them are wholesale

Urban planning exhibition about the city of Shenzhen. It was cool to see how they’ve build it from the ground up in a few decades, making sort of a prototype model for other new city developments.
People’s first approach with use of vertical and subterranean spaces, and lots of green areas

Here testing out some drones at DJI flagship store in Shenzhen

This transparent led floating advertising placement looks so sci-fi, but it’s a bit loud

This is a “date house” that uses AI for match making. Interesting that it’s still a physical place
August 20, 2025 at 11:08 AM
Take a look at this “old” automatic Mahjong table 🀄️🤯
This was at a rental room that you could access with your phone, looks like it is quite common to find them at hotels and malls

Most beverage machines now are just open fridges, even the ones placed in public spaces. You’re supposed to select what you want on the screen, pay with your phone and just take it
August 20, 2025 at 8:04 AM
With public toilets, aside from the data screens that you’ve probably seen on TikTok, now they’re going beyond with the design. Like this one in a park that blends in almost completely
