My advice for on-the-go conference content? Get yourself a phone gimbal! This thing has been my bestie at #NACADA25.

Watch out, Vegas — @josieahlquist.bsky.social and I are here this week, providing on-site content support for NACADA’s Annual Conference. Excited to show all the academic advisors some love (these people are so delightful and passionate; they deserve it)! 💙💚

The Life of a Showgirl is the sparkle of goodness I needed this week. ✨❤️‍🔥 On my second play-through. So far my favorites are The Fate of Ophelia, Elizabeth Taylor, and Actually Romantic.

But honestly, the whole album is a gem and I think this is the best Taylor's voice has ever sounded. 🥰

Pro tip: If you find poison ivy in your backyard and feel that gloves will be sufficient protection during the removal process because it’s just one plant and you’ve never had a reaction before and you’ll be super careful…you should probably put on some long sleeves.

This is an important thread. It seems weirdly disrespectful to try to turn Kirk into something he clearly despised.
As someone who spent many hours listening to Kirk’s show on AM radio, I would say that he made Rush Limbaugh seem like Walter Cronkite by comparison, in terms of rhetorical tone and empirical rigor. The subtext of every show was “You don’t hate the left enough.”
My sense is that most Americans had not heard of Charlie Kirk until yesterday. The first and perhaps only thing they're going to hear about him from the most trusted and important voices in American politics is that he was a model and constructive participant in good-faith political discourse.

"Go to an old cemetery. See all the baby graves from before the 1950s & 60s? After that, hardly any. That's when people started vaccinating their children. If you're unsure what to do to protect your kids, the answer is literally written in stone." — Michael Okuda

Live footage of me ⬇️ working at a café as a bro at the next table mansplains marketing to two women by recommending Gary V and what is essentially a "spray and pray" marketing approach. This is my personal hell.

Learning that Taylor Swift is a fellow sourdough baker has brought me so much joy. I hope she also follows Gigi and Eloise on TikTok.

While I am AMPED about the Taylor Swift album announcement, I feel an equal amount of cringe seeing the thirsty brand comments on the TikTok announcement. Nobody needs to see a laundry detergent fangirling. Like…why?

I invested in a lap desk, and it might just be the perfect hybrid of comfort and ergonomics that my WFH habits needed. And there's a CUPHOLDER! 💁🏻‍♀️

I definitely did not need a close-up photo of a screwworm filling up my feed as I drink my morning tea. Just a note for all the media outlets of the world.

Just went out to see why my dog was barking his head off & going full fur-raised in our backyard — he had cornered an opossum & the thing was playing dead on my freshly mowed grass. So if I get an Apple Watch alert about an irregularly high heart rate today, we know why. (No animals harmed, btw)

Instead of election-season debates or hiring committees for senior leadership positions, I think we should stick all the candidates in a room & watch them participate in a critique session for a writing workshop or art class. Some of these folks were never misunderstood to their face & it shows.
